BIOGRAPHY
Born in England and raised in Miami, Sopheye is a vocalist/songwriter who has worked her way into the music industry by following her passion. Being influenced by music of all kinds and using music as an emotional outlet, she has developed her own soulful sound; able to freestyle sing and rhyme over beats. Drum and Bass is a genre that has fascinated Sopheye, ever since she was introduced as a teen. Performing professionally since she was 18, Sopheye finally made her Drum and Bass debut at the Bassdrive.com WMC 08' showcase as a host MC. Since then, she has MC'd for the likes of Doc Scott, A-sides, AK1200, Random Movement, Kjell, Will Miles, Saburuko, Makoto; also Bassdrive DJ's: Methodus, FUSION and Stunna. She's opened for LTJ Bukem & MC Conrad alongside her production counterpart Stereotype (2/3rd's of Tha Substitutes).
Working with Baby Bam of the Jungle Bros., local hip hop artists in Miami, and a jazz fusion band she still sticks to her multi-genre upbringing. Sopheye has recently released "Rainmaker" featuring herself alongside Stereotype. It's been released by Urban Chemistry Recordings. She has also and has released "Walk By" and "Again" on Ocean Breeze Digital; both tracks produced by Stereotype. Apart from her work with Stereotype and the Substitutes, Sopheye is also collaborating with the likes of Will Miles, Silver, George Young and the Digital Felons crew. If you'd like to catch one of Sopheye's performances, be sure to attend the annual Winter Music Conference in Miaim.
